Greetings Friends, Family, Followers, and Neighbors,

Please join my husband, John, and myself on Saturday, May 4, 2019, 11am to 4pm, to celebrate our twenty years here at Domaine de Manion. We loved the property from the moment we saw it with its historic storybook setting, mature trees, and rural privacy. The property had been neglected for years, but we saw the vision of what it could be once again. Slowly we began replacing foxtail weeds with boxwood gardens, taking care of the trees, creating a vegetable garden, adding a flock of spoiled chickens, planting a vineyard, making wine, remodeling and updating our 1930’s home, and building a barn. It has been an incredible journey, these last twenty years.

We gladly embrace our role as guardians of this special property. We are grateful for every day and every sunset we experience living here. Through my writing and photographs based on our lives and seasons here, I have sought to inspire, share, and teach cooking, gardening, and a wonderful lifestyle for all who are interested.

This spring is especially beautiful with intermittent bands of rains that have nourished and benefited our trees and Mediterranean gardens. Whether you have been here many times, just a few, once, maybe never, or only seen photos from my blog and instagram, I invite you to enjoy and share a moment here this spring.

At this time of great celebration, there are sweeping “winds of change” happening. The former nursery property in front of us is being developed into four huge estates. We are in jeopardy of losing our ocean and horizon views, ocean breezes, and the historic setting and property ambience we love so much. Once this is gone, it is gone forever. We are not trying to stop the development, we are asking for some compromises, considerations, and communication. This has all fallen on deaf ears from the new owner and developer. There is still time to make some impactful development shifts and changes. John and I are optimistic that we will succeed in saving Domaine de Manion.

Please join us on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at our OPEN HOUSE, 11am to 4pm. Your presence is support to us. Enjoy our gardens, and celebrate our beautiful property in its full spring glory. Can’t make it to the OPEN HOUSE, and would like to lend your voice in support. For more details, please contact Bonnie , bonnie@vintagegardengal.com, or (tel) (760) 402-7600.

Hope to see you on May 4th. Best, and Blessings….Bonnie
